Character Olympics at Oakville Middle
Oakville Middle School students spent Monday traveling from station to station as part of the school's Character Olympics event. Students participated in team-building activities, watched teachers perform skits of how to act and how not to act in various situations and more.
McCaskill visits south county
U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill welcomed roughly 70 area residents Saturday to the opening of the Missouri Democratic Party’s South County Coordinated Campaign office at 3528 Lemay Ferry Road. Other offices have been opened in Joplin, Cape Girardeau, Hannibal and St. Joseph, according to McCaskill.
Mehlville firefighters participate in training exercise
Mehlville Fire Protection District firefighters used struts to lift a school bus off a car during a training exercise last week in the parking lot of the Mehlville School District’s South County Opportunity for the Purpose of Education/South St. Louis County Management School building on Will Avenue.
Mehlville students return to school
Mehlville Senior High School students enjoy lunch during the first day of school last week. The Mehlville School District’s 2012-2013 school year kicked off Aug. 16. Before the first day of school, students across the district attended open houses to get acquainted with their schools and new teachers.

The Oakville Senior High School football team pummeled Seckman 55-14 in the Tigers’ homecoming game Friday night.
2012 Lindbergh Spirit Festival
Fun was the order of the day Saturday during the 21st annual Lindbergh Spirit Festival. The weather was perfect for the daylong celebration on the Lindbergh High School campus, which kicked off with a parade, above, featuring themed floats, the Lindbergh High School Spirit of St. Louis Marching Band, cheerleaders, pompon teams and musicians.
20th annual Lindbergh Spirit Festival — May 21, 2011
A parade, games, rides, food and fun were the order of the day Saturday as Lindbergh Schools residents celebrated the 20th anniversary of the district-wide Spirit Festival on the high school campus. The rides brought a smile to many children’s faces during the daylong event. Annual MFPD holiday food drive — Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010
The Mehlville Fire Protection District’s annual holiday food drive took place Saturday at Engine House No. 5 in Green Park. The event included a visit by Santa.
