Bierbaum Elementary students plant garden

Third-graders at Bierbaum Elementary School began planting a community garden earlier this month as a school project. Volunteers helped construct the garden boxes located behind the school. Crestwood Girl Scouts bring new life to outdoor learning area

Fifth-grade Girl Scouts at Crestwood Elementary have been bringing new life to the school's Outdoor Learning Area. They have rebuilt a wooden bridge, stabilized the classroom benches, cleared out overgrown growth and made stepping stones. They also wrote a grant and received money to purchase an outdoor shed. The girls' most recent project was building different types of birdhouses using re-purposed wood from the handrails that were replaced on the bridge. Student's Jump Rope for Heart fundraising tops $1,000

Concord Elementary School fifth-grader Olivia Dull raised $1,076 for the American Heart Association this year during the school's Jump Rope for Heart event. She was the top fundraiser for the entire school, for the second year in a row. To thank Olivia for her hard work to help such a worthwhile cause, Concord will name the school gym in her honor for the 2015-2016 school year, a news release stated....more >>

Lutheran South Key Club aids Nurses for Newborns

The Lutheran High School South Key Club recently decorated the school library for a baby shower, as club members collected items for Nurses for Newborns. Students brought in more than 100 thermometers, 4,300 wipes, 850 diapers, more than 100 sleepers and outfits and more than 100 bibs and blankets.
