The Mehlville Fire Protection District celebrated its 60th anniversary Saturday with an open house at Engine House No. 3, 4811 S. Lindbergh Blvd. The gala featured tours and demonstrations. Kiwanis Club honors police officer, firefighter

The Kiwanis Club of South County recently honored Officer David Meyer, top, of the county Police Department's Affton Southwest Precinct as its Officer of the Year and Capt. John Schindler, bottom, of the Mehlville Fire Protection District as its Officer of the Quarter. Meyer was honored for his untiring dedication and service to the community. Club President Louann Elledge presented Meyer with a certificate of recognition and a gift card to a local store. Pictured, from left, are: Elledge, Meyer and Capt.
