Local Toastmasters offer speakers bureau

December 21, 2005 - South County Toastmasters, a member of Toastmasters International with clubs throughout the world, has established a speakers bureau designed to provide civic, religious and other community organizations with information on a number of topics of interest.

The speakers bureau features talks on how to overcome the fear of public speaking and how to improve speaking skills.

If you are a mediocre business writer and want to improve, one can find guidance through the South County Toastmasters' speakers bureau, according to a news re-lease.

Talks also are available on history, law, sports and politics.

Some of the titles of the available speeches are: "Choosing Your Next Camera,'' "His-tory and Cultures of Greater St. Louis,'' "Lafayette: Hero to America,'' "Manage by Assessment,'' "Practical Politics,'' "The Danger of Pornography,'' "The Ten Com-mandments of Business Writing,'' "There Can Be a 'U' In Sue,'' and "Why Not Use the Power of Employee Involvement?''

Through the Toastmasters' program, individuals can improve communication skills, develop leadership traits and become more self-confident, the release stated.

The South County Toastmasters meet from 7 to 9 p.m. every Wednesday in Room 108 of the MetLife building, 13045 Tesson Ferry Road.

To obtain a copy of a booklet that lists available speeches or to obtain a speaker for an event or to obtain more information about Toastmasters, contact Carl H. Hen-drickson at 4661 Markton Drive, St. Louis, Mo. 63128.
