Lindbergh Spirit Festival slated this Saturday
May 18, 2005 - The 14th annual Lindbergh School Dis-trict Spirit Festival promises to offer fun and entertainment for all ages, according to a district news release.
The Lindbergh Spirit Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, May 21, on the high school campus, 4900 S. Lindbergh Blvd.
The Spirit Festival will kick off at 9 a.m. with a parade from Sperreng Middle School to the high school campus.
State Rep. Jim Avery of Crestwood will serve as grand marshal and will lead the parade of themed floats, fire engines, the Lindbergh High School Spirit of St. Louis Marching Band, cheerleaders, pompon teams and other participants.
The Spirit Festival features a number of attractions, including games, rides, a silent auction, hole-in-one golf, a kiddie area, pony rides and a sports challenge.
Lindbergh groups performing include: the Lindbergh High Marching Band, the Flyerettes, the Sperreng Fiddlers, the Lindbergh High Strolling Strings, the Lindbergh High and Sperreng Middle Jazz Bands, the Madrigal Swingers, Limelight, the Sperreng Show Choir "Swing-n-Sing" and baton group.
Also featured will be a student band, Dywer, and the headline band, Jester.
Free shuttle service is available at all five Lindbergh elementary schools and the public commuter parking lot at Highway 30 and 270. Parking also will be available after 10 a.m. at Sperreng Middle School, 12111 Tesson Ferry Road, and the Affton-Lindbergh Early Childhood, 10305 Concord School Road. Parking will not available on the high school campus, but shuttles will run continuously throughout the day and evening.
