'Tombstone Tales' planned by historical society

April 20, 2005 - The Sappington-Concord Historical So-ciety will sponsor "Tombstone Tales" Sun-day, April 24.

The event will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. at Old St. John's Cemetery, 11333 St. John's Church Road at Interstate 55 and Lindbergh Boulevard.

History will come alive during "Tombstone Tales" through the stories of some of the "deceased," according to a news re-lease. Family members will dress in period costume and talk about their families and the area as it was in days gone by.

This event will provide an opportunity to learn about the history of the area once known as the Gravois Settlement and surrounding area.

Refreshments will be served after the storytelling in the church dining hall, according to the release.
