April 13, 2005 - My wife and I vacationed in the Bahamas on our honeymoon more than 30 years ago. We traveled on a small sailing ship that let you drink for free all day long.
In the tropical heat beer loses its refreshment quotient in no time at all. Therefore, my wife and I started drinking what ever the bar tenders were in the mood to serve us. One of the drinks that stuck with us was El Presidente. There's always room for more rum in this recipe.
3 cups ice
1 ½ jiggers dry vermouth
1 ½ jiggers lemon juice
2 dashes of grenadine
2 dashes of blue curacao
5 jiggers of rum any color
Mix all ingredients in blender. Serve with an orange twist impaled by one of those little drink umbrellas.
