String orchestras to strut their stuff April 22, 23


April 13, 2005 - "Off the Floor and On to the Stage" is the theme of the National Strolling Strings Festival hosted by the Lindbergh High School Strolling Strings.

The two-day festival on April 22 and 23 at the Sheraton Westport Lakeside Chalet features strolling strings groups from California, Indiana, Ohio and St. Louis as well as clinics by Crystal Plohman, a renowned violinist and music professor at Vanderbilt University, according to a Lindbergh School District news release.

The community can attend the Grande Stroll Banquet Dinner at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 23 at the Versailles Ballroom of the Sheraton Westport Lakeside Chalet at Westport Plaza.

All eight Strolling Strings groups will perform as one large unit and the Lindbergh High School and Sperreng Middle School groups each will perform two songs.
