Eagle Scout receives House resolution

April 06, 2005 - Boy Scout Daniel Parker recently was pre-sented a Missouri House of Representa-tives' resolution honoring him for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.

Rep. Walt Bivins, R-Oakville, presented the resolution to Parker during a Court of Honor ceremony, according to a news re-lease.

"Daniel is a fine student and a dedicated Scout and it was my honor to be able to present him with this small token of appreciation from the Missouri House of Rep-resentatives," Bivins stated in the release. "He has spent 11 years of his young life dedicated to Scouting and has demonstrated his capability and willingness to exert his leadership on many occasions."

Parker is a member of Boy Scout Troop 169 in south county. He successfully met the requirements for the rank of Eagle Scout by completing his Eagle project, which involved installing green edging, flowers and mulch to flower beds and small trees in the courtyard and side entrance at the Blessed John XXIII Center.

During his 11 years as a Scout, Parker mastered several challenging and diverse skills and earned the Arrow of Light, 21 merit badges, the Ad Altar Dei Award and membership in the Order of the Arrow.

Daniel is the son of Greg and Sandra Parker of Concord.

"I want to congratulate Daniel on his success in attaining Eagle Scout," Bivins stated. "And I want to wish him the best of luck in all his future endeavors."
