Black History Month celebration set Monday


February 23, 2005 - The Lindbergh High School Liberal Union will celebrate Black History Month with "As History Continues," featuring entertainment from A.J.S.R. with Gateway.

As a former Columbia Records recording artist, vocalist, dancer, actor, model and producer, A.J.S.R. has worked with Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Richard Pryor and many other national artists, according to a news release.

The celebration is from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, at the Lindbergh High School Auditorium, 4900 S. Lindbergh Blvd., and is free and open to the public.

Lindbergh High student Aaja-D also will perform.

The vocalist, actress, model and dancer has shared the stage with Cedric the Entertainer and the father of rock 'n' roll, Johnnie "Be Good" Johnson, among others.

A.J.S.R. attended Webster Groves High School, Webster College and Webster University, earning both bachelor's and master's degrees.
