Lindbergh High graduate selected for choir
December 22, 2004 - Jessica Cross of south county has been selected by audition to sing as a soprano II with the Elmhurst College Concert Choir and Chamber Singers.
The Concert Choir performs at a variety of college events throughout the academic year including the Festival of Lessons and Carols, Commencement, Founders Day and the annual fall and spring concerts.
The Chamber Singers is a smaller ensemble specializing in advanced choral literature from the medieval to classical periods, along with a few contemporary composers. Members frequently perform at private parties during the holiday season.
Both groups are under the direction of Susan Moninger, associate professor of music at Elmhurst College.
Cross, a junior music education major, currently is vice president of the Chamber Singers. She also is a Campus Crusade for Christ leader, a member of Music Educator National Conference, Lambda Sigma Psi, a music recognition society, and Theta Al-pha Phi, a dramatics recognition society.
She also is a Presidential Scholarship and a Sherratt Music Scholarship recipient.
A 2002 graduate of Lindbergh High School, she is the daughter of Bill and Cathy Cross of St. Louis.
