'Tea Time in the Afternoon' to be served Saturday

Tea and book lovers of all ages will de-light in "Tea Time in the Afternoon," set Saturday, Oct. 16, to benefit the Lindbergh School District's Reeve Lindbergh Book and Poetry Festival.

Tea will be served and festivities will take place at 3 p.m. at Truman Elementary School, 12225 Eddie and Park Road. "Tea Time" features an afternoon of tea and slightly absurd fashions, and will begin with a cake walk and other events.

Marla Dell, Lindbergh humorist and speaker extraordinaire, will give a presentation on tea drinking and customs. Light refreshments will be served and Lindbergh teachers will model fashions inspired by Amelia Bedelia.

Tickets for the event cost $12 for adults and $8 for children. For tickets, call Paula Graef at (314) 729-2400, Ext. 7132.

The Reeve Lindbergh Book and Poetry Festival is a districtwide event that will run from Feb. 27 through March 1, according to a district news release.
