An Ursuline Academy graduate has been awarded a college scholarship by the Tenet Healthcare Foundation, a charitable foundation sponsored by the Tenet Healthcare Corp.

South county resident Meghan McGrath, daughter of Tenet telemetry nurse Mary McGrath, is planning on pursuing metallurgical engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla.

"With the rising costs of higher education, Tenet is pleased to offer this financial assistance to our employees and their children. It's an excellent investment not only for our company but for the workforce of the future," Barbara B. Luton, vice president, of corporate citizenship, and Tenet Healthcare Foundation executive director, stated in a news release.

This year, the Tenet Foundation awarded a total of $295,000 to 179 recipients through the Tenet Children of Employees Scholarship program.
