Eight Mehlville students earn FBLA awards


Eight Mehlville School District students earned awards at the recent Future Business Leaders of America District 9 competition at Meramec Community College.

The local competition featured hundreds of students from 15 different high schools.

Oakville High School competitors received four awards at the competition.

Jeremy Whiteley won first place in the Mr. FBL category and will participate this month in the state FBLA competition.

Shannon Jump brought home a third-place finish in the Ms. FBL category.

Earning second-place finishes were Courtney Clark (Impromptu Speaking) and Aaron Street (Mr. FBL).

Mehlville High FBLA members also earned four awards at the event. Vince Chau brought home a second-place finish in the Word Processing II category. Ryan Kreup won fourth place in the Word Processing II category. Capturing third-place finishes were Haris Pilipovic (Accounting II) and Becky Brannon (Impromptu Speaking).
