Citizen thanks Crestwood mayor for his efforts

Letter to the editor

To the editor:

I have been a citizen of Crestwood for more than 44 years and I have attended many, many meetings of the Board of Aldermen.

Fellow citizens, do not rely on hearsay, but come to the Board of Alderman meetings held at 7 p.m. every second and fourth Tuesday of the month at City Hall. Tape your programs that you would have seen on TV.

A lot of citizens think that Mayor Robertson created this financial mess; this is definitely the wrong view.

If you had attended the Jan. 27 meeting, you would have heard the truth as presented by the auditing firm that conducted a restated audit for '01 and '02.

I personally voted for Jim and encouraged others also. I knew that he would hit the ground running, but unfortunately the financial mess he inherited took too much time and energy.

So if you are wondering what can you do, come to the Board of Aldermen meetings.

Your elected representatives really want to hear from you. Your input helps them in their decisions. Sending hate mail is not the democratic way. Unfortunately, we will be reading about suits and countersuits, but this is part of the democratic process.

In closing, I want to say "Danke Schoen'' and "Auf Weidersehen'' to Jim for his efforts.
