The Crestwood-Sunset Hills Area Chamber of Commerce recently joined Donna Meyers from U.S. Bank in presenting Mark Schmitz with a $50 savings bond and a plaque for Student of the Month for May 2003. Schmitz, a graduate of Life Christian School, is a young man of integrity, character and honor. He serves as a positive role model to his peers in academics and athletics. Schmitz is a member of the National Honor Society and serves as a Big Brother to a first-grader. He loves golf and belongs to several golf associations as well as being the recipient of many awards the last few years. Aside from golf, Schmitz is the soccer team captain and the varsity basketball captain. He always keeps busy with community service projects such as the Joyce Meyer Ministries, Integrated Health Services Nursing Home, Make a Wish Foundation and helps with picnics and food drives. Schmitz has been nominated for the 2003 National Honor Society Scholarship Certificate of Merit from the Toyota Scholars Program.
