Representatives of the Sappington-Concord Historical Society and the Lind-bergh School District toured the home of August and Viola Hoeft last Friday to evaluate its potential for salvage as a historic building. The home at 10208 Concord School Road once was the original Concord School built of logs in 1843. The property has been purchased for demolition and construction of new homes, but the society is mounting an effort to save the old school and move it to the Lindbergh High School campus. Some of the school's original logs can be seen at the top of the photograph. Pictured, from left, are: Rose Marie Karius, a descendent of the Dietrich family that built the log school, and Viola and August Hoeft, who have lived in the home since 1959.
