Pupils in Tim Brennan's fifth-grade class are selling tootsie roll pops during lunch at Hagemann Elementary School. Pupils are selling the yummy pops to raise money to send to the USO for care packages for the armed forces. In a district news release, Brennan said this was a non-political way his class could help troops fighting in the war. The pupils' goal is to raise $500 to assist with the cost of making USO care packages for the armed forces. So far, pupils, parents and staff have joined in the effort by supporting the project and the fifth-grade class has sold more than 1,500 tootsie roll pops. At their tootsie pop stand during a recent lunch period, from left, are: Jill Rellegert, Matt Parker and Colton Wittmeyer.
