Kiwanis Club honors police officer, firefighter

May 07, 2014 - The Kiwanis Club of South County recently honored Officer David Meyer, top, of the county Police Department's Affton Southwest Precinct as its Officer of the Year and Capt. John Schindler, bottom, of the Mehlville Fire Protection District as its Officer of the Quarter. Meyer was honored for his untiring dedication and service to the community. Club President Louann Elledge presented Meyer with a certificate of recognition and a gift card to a local store. Pictured, from left, are: Elledge, Meyer and Capt. Chris Stocker, commander of the Affton Southwest Precinct. Schindler was selected for the honor for his consistent reliability in carrying out his many and varied duties and responsibilities for the department. He was presented with a certificate of recognition and a gift card to a local store. Pictured, from left, are: Deputy Chief Kent Snelson, Elledge, Schindler and Assistant Chief Dan LaFata.
