May 08, 2013 - The Lemay Chamber of Commerce and Montgomery Bank recently honored eleven teachers, one from each school in ZIP code 63125, at its 12th annual Outstanding Educator Recognition Dinner.

The event recognizes teachers for professional excellence in the classroom and their dedication to area youth.

"We rely on our schools and our Outstanding Educators to inspire and educate tomorrow's business and community leaders in Lemay. The teachers that we recognize each year are perfect examples of the above-and-beyond approach to education that will ensure our community's future success," Lemay Chamber of Commerce Vice President Dan Pogue stated in a news release.

Those honored from the Hancock Place School District were Julie Kelleher of Hancock Place Elementary School, Krista Dunn of Hancock Place Middle School and Brian Murphy of Hancock Place High School.

From the Mehlville School District, honorees were Susan Montgomery of Beasley Elementary School, Erin Baumann of Bierbaum Elementary School, Karen Colombo of Forder Elementary School, Kimberly Rapp of Margaret Buerkle Middle School and Matt Phoenix of Mehlville High School.

From area parochial schools, honorees included Stephanie Torbeck of Green Park Lutheran School, Amy Bush of Notre Dame High School and Cathy Bowerman from St. Mark Catholic School.

"Montgomery Bank and the Lemay Chamber of Commerce recognize the important job teachers do to educate and motivate our future business leaders," stated Patty Iverson, Montgomery Bank branch manager-Union Road. "This award is our way of saying thank you to these teachers, who have a demanding and difficult task, but continue to meet each challenge and keep moving forward."
