Troop 35 Boy Scout earns Eagle rank

January 30, 2013 - Jacob Doty of Troop 35 in O'Fallon, Ill., recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Jacob is the grandson of James and Sallye Hopmann of Oakville, Winslow and Thelma Lowery of Ferguson, and the great-grandson of Helen Wittenauer, also of Oakville. Jacob attended Rogers Elementary and began Scouting as a Tiger Cub in Pack 166. He achieved his Arrow of Light before crossing over to Troop 166. Jacob's Eagle project was renovating a room at the United Church of Christ in O'Fallon. He has earned 26 merit badges. Currently, Jacob is the chapter chief of the Pontiac Chapter of the Nisha Kittan Lodge of the Order of the Arrow. He plans to work a second summer on the Boy Scout camp staff for the Lewis and Clark Council.
