Grant applications being accepted for Route 66 Car Cruise

This year's event slated Aug. 10

January 16, 2013 - Grant applications are being accepted for the fourth annual Crestwood-Sunset Hills Route 66 Car Cruise, which will take place Aug. 10.

Each year, the Route 66 Classic Car Cruise chooses one or more local charities to benefit from any excess revenues generated by the event, according to a news release. All applicants must have a 501(c)3 status and complete a grant application by April 30.

For more information, contact event PR/Ad Committee Chairman Steve Boggeman at (314) 843-8545, or download a grant application at www.sunsethillshs.org/Charities.html. All entries should be submitted to Steve Boggeman, c/o Crestwood-Sunset Hills Area Chamber of Commerce, 9058-A Watson Road, Crestwood, MO 63126.

The event is free to the public and will include vintage automobiles on display, fun games for the entire family and musical entertainment.

The 2012 Route 66 Car Cruise grant was awarded to the Children's Tumor Foundation, a nonprofit medical foundation that is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of individuals and families who are affected by neurofibromatoses. Past recipients also have included CHADS Coalition, the USO Toys for Tots campaign and the Lindbergh Schools Foundation Teacher Grant Program.
