Carjacking reported at River City Casino

January 02, 2013 - Officers from the South County Precinct of the county Police Department responded Friday night to a report of a carjacking at the River City Casino, 777 River City Casino Blvd.

A 63-year-old female told police that an unknown suspect displayed a gun and took her purse and vehicle, a 2012 Hyundai Sonata, at roughly 10:50 p.m. from the casino's parking garage, according a Police Department news release.

The woman was not harmed. She was with a 61-year-old female, though nothing was taken from the second woman, the release stated.

After police notified surrounding officers, the vehicle was observed and pursued into unincorporated north county, where the subjects eventually were stopped and taken into custody.

Four suspects were taken into custody on charges of robbery and resisting by flight and taken to the St. Louis County Juvenile Justice Center. The stolen items were recovered. A gun was not found at the scene.
