Rescheduled JB Blast to take place Oct. 5

September 26, 2012 - The annual JB Blast event will take place Friday, Oct. 5, at Veterans Memorial Amphitheater in Jefferson Barracks Park.

The U.S. Air Force Band of Mid-America will perform, followed by a fireworks show. Festivities will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Sixth District County Councilman Steve Stenger, also a sponsor of the event, told the Call he believes it will be a great night.

"From what I'm gathering there's going to be a really good crowd ...," Stenger said, "and it'll be the same celebration as always. We've got a great show planned this year with a really good fireworks show."

The event, originally scheduled July 3, was postponed due to extreme heat and dry weather conditions.

Besides Stenger, sponsors of St. Louis County's annual patriotic celebration include County Executive Charlie Dooley, the South County Chamber of Commerce, the St. Louis County Department of Parks and Recreation and the St. Louis County Police Department.
