Call takes a look back at 2012

The proposed redevelopment of Crestwood Court by Centrum Properties was the topic of much discussion by Crestwood elected officials and residents during the past year. Centrum, the mall's owner along with Angelo Gordon Co., proposed an open-air entertainment and retail venue last year that would include restaurants, a movie theater and a bowling concept. Salem Lutheran students raise money for Heart Association

Students at Salem Lutheran School in Affton recently raised an impressive $900 for the American Heart Association during their annual Jump Rope/Hoops for Heart event. The school's younger students cycled through eight different stations, which included the limbo, hurdles, an obstacle course, a mini-trampoline, jumping rope, a spin jumper and long-rope jumping. Older students competed in individual, long and double-dutch jump rope competitions, as well as obstacle course and basketball competitions. 'Everyone participated to help remind students of the importance of exercise for a healthy heart, and to show them that exercise can be fun,' Diane Carney, Salem's physical education teacher, stated in a news elease.
